More Advanced Technology used in WMS: (RFID)

1. Increase Inventory Accuracy for Increased Productivity
One of the keys to a profitable business is the efficient operation of the warehouse using an RFID warehouse management software and bar-coding. The automation function of SPT's RFID warehouse management system (WMS) enables a company to effectively manage and control all aspects of warehouse or distribution operations. With accurate RFID inventory and the appropriate data collection infra structure (barcode and RFID), you will increase inventory accuracy, improve order picking accuracy, boost shipping throughput, reduce inventory counts, and increase your inventory turns.

2. Warehouse Software that is Affordable, Grows with You, Easy to Use
RFID enable warehouse management software is affordable and easy to use. The system is feature rich with an intuitive user interface. WMS comes in multiple cost effective versions that maximize efficiency and optimize labor productivity in warehouses of all sizes. Each version provides the core functions for warehouse operations, including physical inventory, shipping, receiving, and picking, as well as management features such as queries, reporting and barcode labeling. As your business grows, WMS RFID will also grow with you. New functions and upgrades can include supplementary features like space management, RFID data collection, EPC compliance, user defined sequenced put-away and picks, zone picking, batched order management, replenishment, 3PL billing and web order access, and cross-docking support.

3. Uses Proven Technologies Such as Bar Coding, RFID and Wireless Networks
WMS's barcode data collection system runs on many popular portable data collection terminals (PDTs) and wireless networks, for the required mobility in warehouses. These devices support bar code and RFID reading, voice, mobile computing and wireless networking (WiFi). The PDT/PDA applications utilize the latest Microsoft ® handheld computer operating systems including Windows Mobile, CE, and Pocket PC.

4. Complements ERP Systems, MRP Systems and Accounting Systems
SPT provides several tools to effectively provide data transfer between the RFID warehouse management system and your other back office systems, including basic import/export, data staging table utility and third party plug-ins. The use and benefits of each utility will vary with the operating environment.

Add-on Modules for WMS:

1. The Scheduler
One important function, unavailable back in the paper days, is the concept of the Scheduler. The scheduler is a service that is capable of reserving dock time for a trailer based upon such metrics as when the trailer will be available, when the trailer must arrive at its destination, when product will be available for shipment, the amount of time required for product to be packaged, tagged, staged and loaded and more. No warehouse management system is complete without a schedule.

2. Material-handling Supervisor
The Material-handling Supervisor is another service operating within the WMS that keeps track of the availability and location of the assets required to move product. Such assets include but are not limited to forklifts, totes, mobile devices and carts.

3. Inventory Locator
The inventory locator is a module that allows workers to find product within the warehouse. More than just a simple lookup table, the functionality of a locator can include one or more of the following features: a quick search, a multiple location search, a replenishment alert. If inventory is out of stock, the locator can also have the ability to identify when new product will be available, where it will be staged and trip a replenishment alert once it has arrived.

4. Inventory Pick Supervisor
Whether product is picked using voice technology, bar code scanning, radio frequency identification (RFID), the inventory pick supervisor controls the amount of product to be moved from a staging area onto the conveyor's (pick belts) or one of many other inventory picking configurations including pick to light, etc.

5. Shelflife Supervisor
A shelflife supervisor is an invaluable asset for any WMS especially when it comes to food and beverage or consumer package good operations where the amount of time product remains on a shelf is important. Such functionality automatically routes product from the appropriate staging areas and forces bulk moves between staging areas depending upon expiration date of the product.
